Jade Whymark

Following extensive participation in choral and solo performances at school, Jade is now currently reading Music at the University of Nottingham where she has just finished her second year. During her time at the University so far, Jade has sung with all three choirs including performing with Viva Voce, the University Chamber Choir, in both Tuscany and Prague.

In her first year, Jade majored in performance singing Quilter, Mozart and Rossini in a recital which received a First-Class mark. Jade was also cast in her first operatic role as Cherubino in OpSoc’s, the University of Nottingham’s Opera Society, production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro.

To some extent Jade has taken a step back from performance this year due to her new role as President of Opsoc. During her time in this position, Jade had produced, organised and directed five operas including a critically acclaimed sell-out World Premiere “pub opera”, Entr’acte, by Alex Patterson.

Jade is continuing to make use of her organisational skills as she heads into her third and final year by becoming the University of Nottingham’s Music Society’s Tour Manager. In this role she will be leading an orchestral and choral tour to Belgium.

Although Jade aims to develop a career in arts and opera admin, she is still a keen performer and is very excited to be singing with the Orchestra, with whom she has played viola with in the past.
