Gunda Baranauskaite

Gunda Baranauskaite is a young Lithuanian concert and chamber music cellist, who has won prizes in national and international competitions. Her repertoire is filled with a variety of styles – from baroque, classicism and other academic genres to jazz and pop music.

Her career is mainly based on chamber music – she has been a member of a variety of different chamber music ensembles and a regular member since 2013 of the piano quartet “Artro”, which won 3rd place in the XII international competition of Lithuanian chamber music compositions and Grand Prix in the XIV international competition “Music without limits”.

Gunda has taken part in projects as a soloist and orchestra member in the Baltic states, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy and other European countries. She has also collaborated with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, baroque ensemble “Musica Humana”, “Camerata Klaipeda”, Klaipeda‘s Chamber orchestra, “Baltic guitar quartet”, Martynas Levickis (accordion), Benjamin Clementine and others. Gunda has been a member of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra’s cello group since 2013.

In 2016 she was invited to be a member of the contemporary music ensemble “Synaesthesis” which has won the best interpretation prize in the “Just composed” competition at ISA 2016 – International Summer Academy (Austria).
