Esther Mallett

Esther Mallett is a second year undergraduate reading music at the Queen’s College, Oxford. Whilst studying she has appeared as a soloist in performances including Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri, Bach’s Ascension Oratorio, Handel’s Messiah and Fauré’s Requiem. Operatic performances have included Linfea in La Calisto (Cavalli), a Shepherdess in Venus and Adonis (John Blow) and the Fisherman’s Wife (a role written for her) in The Golden Fish, a children’s opera created by Oxford University students and Garsington Opera. She has also performed the part of Coridon in a concert performance of Acis and Galatea for New Chamber Opera Studio. She has given recitals including music by Purcell, Schubert and Maconchy.

Esther has also undertaken extensive choral singing in Oxford with the Queen’s College Chapel Choir (where she holds a choral scholarship), the Choir of Pusey House and Magdalen College’s Consort of Voices. She currently studies with Ashley Stafford.
