West Mendip Orchestra

West Mendip Orchestra

West Mendip Orchestra is a medium sized, friendly amateur orchestra. Our members come from a wide area including Bristol and Bridgwater, Wells and Weston-super-Mare.

We perform three or four concerts each year from the classical repertoire. Our concerts often feature well-known local soloists and also young talented musicians early in their careers, as well as music composed especially for us.

We rehearse from 7:45pm to 10pm on Fridays at The Lynch Chapel Hall in Winscombe.

Open Rehearsal, Saturday 1st October

On Saturday 1st October, the orchestra invites instrumentalists to an open rehearsal to come and play Dvorak’s “New World” Symphony and finish with an informal concert for family and friends.

Why not come along and join in? We will be delighted to see you.
There is no charge for this event, but please let us know that you are coming.

For more details, and to register, go to the Open Rehearsal page.

Players Wanted

The Orchestra is looking for string players, horns, a trumpet and a timpanist. We don't hold auditions, but members need to be able to play music in the classical orchestral repertoire. Please contact the secretary for more details.
